Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian cricket team captain and ex-BCCI President, has lodged a formal complaint with the Thakurpukur Police Station in Kolkata regarding the theft of his mobile phone from his residence. The phone, valued at Rs 1.60 lakh, went missing in January 2024, raising concerns over potential data theft and privacy breaches. Ganguly had been extensively using the phone before its disappearance, prompting worries about the exposure of personal information stored on the device.
Following the incident, Ganguly expressed deep concern about the loss of his phone and requested assistance from law enforcement authorities to safeguard his personal data from misuse or compromise. Search operations have commenced to locate the missing phone, with authorities planning to interrogate workers painting Ganguly's residence in Behala. The former BCCI chief emphasized the significance of retrieving the phone or securing his contact and bank account details to prevent any potential misuse.
